Respite Care

Respite care — also known as short-term assisted living — is a senior care service we offer to ensure that you or your loved one is receiving the best possible care during short-term periods. Respite care is often used by seniors who are recovering from a medical procedure, or for those who are looking to see what assisted living is like.

However, in the majority of cases, respite care is utilized as a short-term care option when an in-home caregiver goes on vacation or needs an extended break.

Respite Care: What to Expect

The amount of time each resident stays at our facility will depend on their needs; it can be as little as a few weeks or as long as a few months. Generally, seniors that are recovering from a medical procedure who require rehab and additional medical follow-up will spend more time with us. On the other hand, if a resident is with us because of a caregiver break, their stay could be much shorter.

At our senior care facility, we provide day-to-day personal care services — like helping with dressing, bathing, and using the bathroom. Our respite care program also includes gourmet meals tailored to the needs of our residents. These meals also give residents the opportunity to socialize with each other, which can be a great thing for improving morale and overall mental health.

What We Offer

We understand that your loved one may be with us for any number of reasons, that’s why we tailor our respite care program to the needs of the individual. We also make it a point to treat our respite care residents just as we would our longer term residents: with care and respect.

During their stay, each resident will enjoy our caring and nurturing environment, all while our staff provides round-the-clock care. Respite care accommodations include:

  • 24/7 care
  • Nutritious and delicious meals prepared and served daily
  • Social activities for those who are able to participate

Why Should You Choose Respite Care?

Caregiving can be a stressful job, especially if it’s a situation where a loved one is providing that care. We understand that leaving your loved one in the care of someone else can be difficult, and it is our goal to make it as stress-free as possible — not only for the senior, but for the caregiver as well.

While seniors certainly benefit from respite care through socialization and round-the-clock care, often times it’s the caregiver who benefits the most. Respite care offers caregivers the opportunity to step away and relax, all while knowing the person they care for is receiving the best possible care.
